ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to forthwith issue a new Revolver Arms Licence to the petitioner, in compliance with the order of the 1st respondent in Na.Ka.No.Va.Ni.5(1)/12854/2024 dated 11.04.2025 and in accordance with the provisions of the Arms Act, 1959 and the Arms Rules, 2016, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is disposed at the stage of admission itself.

3. The petitioner, who is an Advocate by profession, is taking care of the properties of his siblings apart from carrying on his real estate business. Hence, for the purpose of safety and security, he made an application seeking a gun licence and the same has been forwarded by the first respondent to the second respondent for consideration vide order dated 11.04.2025 in Na.Ka.No.Va.Ni.5(1)/12854/2024 and now, the matter is pending before the second respondent. 2/4

4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner seeks implementation of the order passed by the first respondent dated 11.04.2025 in Na.Ka.No.Va.Ni.5(1)/12854/2024.

5. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the case of the petitioner will be considered by the second respondent in accordance with law.

6. In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the case of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
