ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the learned Principal District Court for EC & NDPS Act Cases, Madurai to dispose the case in CC No.792 of 2023 within a stipulated time.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is one of the accused and due to non-appearance of the accused 1 and 2, the case is pending endlessly.

3. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court hereby directs the learned Principal District Court for EC & NDPS Act Cases, Madurai, to split up the case insofar as the absconding accused is concerned and to proceed with the case against the petitioner in C.C. No.792 of 2023, complete the trial, and dispose of the same on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed. 19.12.2025 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Sm 2/4
