Prayer : Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 528 of BNSS, 2023, to issue a direction directing the Respondent No.1 to 3, to provide adequate police protection to the Petitioner and Respondent No.4 at the time of doing electrical works to the Petitioner's house to give electric connection to his house, by considering the representation dated 12.12.2025.

ORDER

Seeking direction to the Respondent No.1 to 3 to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and for the 4th respondent to do electrical work to the petitioner's house and give electricity connection by considering the petitioner's representation dated 12.12.2025, this criminal original petition is filed.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had already submitted a representation on 12.12.2025 seeking police protection for availing electricity connection to his house. He is working as Tamil professor in Madurai American College and his wife 2/6

and children are residing at Nagercoil and they have made an application before the 4th respondent for availing electricity connection to their house. When the staff of the 4th respondent were engaged to do electrical work, the 5th and 6th respondents have caused hindrance. In this regard already on 17.12.2025, the 4th respondent had given an intimation to the 3rd respondent police marking copy to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Colachel.

3. The learned Government Advocate on instructions submitted that the petitioner as well as the private respondents have already lodged complaint against each other and on 12.06.2025, C.S.Rs were issued and the matter was closed.

4. In view of the same, the 3rd respondent police is directed to provide adequate police protection for the petitioner to avail electricity connection. However, the petitioner is directed to bear the cost of the same by paying whatever charges are claimed by the 3rd respondent in terms of circular issued by the Director General of Police in Rc.No. 3/6

193784/PAC-2/2017 dated 19.03.2019 However, any civil dispute, if prevailing, between the petitioner and the 4th respondent, is directed to be resolved by them by approaching the competent Civil Court.

5. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition stands allowed.
