ORDER

Seeking direction to the 2nd respondent to give police protection to the petitioner, this criminal original petition is filed.

2. Considering the relief given by this Court, notice to the private respondents is dispensed with.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the life of the petitioner is endangered by the activities of the respondents 3 to 5 who had tried to kill him. More particularly, it is interesting that the 4th respondent is his wife.

4. However, the learned Government Advocate on instructions submitted that even in his complaint which was lodged earlier, there was no mention about the respondents 3 to 5. In his complaint, it was mentioned that he was attacked by one unknown person. In this regard, 2/5

investigation is pending. However, now he has come forward with this story that it is the respondents 3 to 5 who had tried to kill him.

5. In view of the above, the 2nd respondent is directed to conduct an enquiry and conclude the same within a period of three (3) weeks from today i.e., 02.01.2026. It is further directed to ensure surveillance of the petitioner's residence by directing the regular beat police to conduct periodic rounds in the petitioner's area considering the fact that the petitioner is a senior citizen aged 71 years.

6. With the above directions, this criminal original petition stands disposed of.
