[R7 is suo motu impleaded as per order dated 06.01.2026, made in W.P.(MD)No.97 of 2026] PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to pass an order based on the petitioner's representation dated 24.01.2025 within the time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to pass an order on the petitioner's representation dated 24.01.2025 within the time to be stipulated by this Court.
2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. Since no adverse orders are going to be passed against the respondents 5 and 6, notice to the respondents 5 and 6 is hereby dispensed with.
4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's great-grandfather and father were in possession and enjoyment of the property in question. The petitioner has made a detailed representation seeking rectification of erroneous entries in the UDR. The said representation is pending consideration before the competent authority, and no decision has been taken till date. Non-consideration of the petitioner's representation is arbitrary and violative of the principles of natural justice. Hence, the present writ petition.

The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the official respondents would submit that, in the present case, it is for the Sub-Collector, Kulithalai Taluk, Karur District, to conduct an enquiry. Accordingly, the SubCollector called for records from the third respondent / Tahsildar, Kulithalai Taluk, Karur District. Pursuant to the said communication, the third respondent has issued a notice to the petitioner.
6. At this juncture, it is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the enquiry has already been completed, however, no report has been
forwarded by the third respondent to the Sub-Collector, Kulithalai Taluk, Karur District, till date.
7. In view of the above, this Court suo motu impleads the Sub-Collector, Kulithalai Taluk, Karur District, as the seventh respondent in the present writ petition.
8. Considering the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the third respondent / Tahsildar, Kulithalai Taluk, Karur District, to forward a report to the seventh respondent / Sub-Collector, Kulithalai Taluk, Karur District, who has been suo motu impleaded in the writ petition, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The seventh respondent / Sub-Collector, Kulithalai Taluk, Karur District, shall thereafter pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks.
9. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
