O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents herein to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.08.2025 and to initiate an enquiry to rectify the errors in the Town Survey Register and the TSLR Sketch with respect to the property comprised in Old S.No.1079/Part and S.No.1078/1B (T.S.Nos.43/1 and 42/2A), situated at Chinnamanur Town, Uthamapalayam Taluk, Theni District, within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner, along with Senrayar and Manickavasakar, jointly purchased lands comprised in Old Survey Nos.1079/Part, 1078/2, 1078/3, 1078/4 and 1078/1B, measuring an extent of 2 Acres and 24 Cents and have been in possession and Page No. 2 of 6

enjoyment of the same. Subsequently, certain portions of the said lands were acquired for National Highway formation. Thereafter, the remaining extent continued to remain with the petitioner and the co-purchasers. However, discrepancies have crept into the revenue records and the TSLR Sketch, wherein the balance extents have been wrongly recorded. Further, in the Town Survey Register relating to the land in T.S.No.42/2A, the name of one Ravindran has been erroneously included along with the rightful owners. Therefore, seeking rectification of the said errors, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 22.08.2025 to the respondents. However, no action has been taken thereon. Hence, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 22.08.2025 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed by the second respondent within a period of twelve weeks.

5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a Page No. 3 of 6

direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.08.2025 and pass appropriate orders on its merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representation shall be disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The second respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, the said Ravindran and any other interested parties who may be affected by such decision, before passing any order. In the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to work out their remedies before the Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
