PRAYER: Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to consider the application of the Petitioner dated 21.11.2025 for re-employment in the post of Principal in the Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar College within a time frame stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R

The petitioner is working as a Principal in Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar College, Tenkasi, which is a non-Minority College under the control of the Joint Director of Collegiate Education. The petitioner is due to retire on attaining the age of superannuation on 31.01.2026. Since his retirement date is in the middle of the academic year, the petitioner has made a request, seeking extension of time, till the academic year, however, it has not been considered by the respondents. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.

2.Today(27.01.2026), when this writ petition is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submits that the request of this petitioner has already been rejected that there was no proposal from the concerned College, seeking extension of time.

3.Recording the aforesaid submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, this writ petition is closed with a direction to the respondent Department to serve a copy of the rejection order to this petitioner, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
