The present writ petition has been filed by the husband of one Mrs.Rajalakshmi, who had passed away on 22.08.2020 by consuming poison, seeking a Mandamus directing the first respondent herein to issue a Death Certificate.
2. According to the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the first respondent, the documents which are annexed in the typed set of papers were not annexed with the application. Hence, there was a delay. He further submits that the request for registration of the death emanated only after a period of one year. Therefore, they are not in a position to give the Death 2/5
Certificate. He further submits that based upon the documents now annexed in the typed set of papers, orders would be passed within a period of four weeks.
3. Considering the above said facts, the first respondent is directed to consider the request of the petitioner and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. With the above said observation, this writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently connected Miscellaneous Petition stands closed.
