ORDER

Alleging that the order of this Court dated 18.03.2025, made in W.P. (MD)No.20349 of 2022 has not been complied with, the petitioner has come up before this Court with this Contempt Petition.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that, though this Court had ordered payment of the applicable rate of interest on the compensation amount, no such interest was paid.

3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the second respondent submits that, pursuant to the orders of this Court, an agreement was entered into with the petitioner on 03.06.2025, wherein a sum of Rs.14,63,445/- was accepted by the petitioner.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner, however, submits that the interest component was not paid.

5. Once the parties have accepted the amount pursuant to the orders of this Court, it is deemed to have been accepted to their satisfaction. In such circumstances, the contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner that interest was not paid cannot be sustained. Hence, this Contempt Petition is closed.
