O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondents to grant permission to conduct sports and Aadalum Padalum Cultural Program, at EB colony. Near Bus Stop, Gandhi Gramam North, Pasupathipalayam, Karur District in connection with new year celebration on 01.01.2026 at about 07.00a.m.to 09.30p.m. by considering the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 20.12.2025

2. According to the petitioner, he is residing at Periyar Nagar, North Gandhi Gramam, Pasupathipalayam, Karur District. The residents of the said area decided to celebrate a New Year festival by conducting sports events and an Aadalum Paadalum cultural programme at EB Colony, near the bus stop, Gandhi Gramam North, Pasupathipalayam, Karur District. In this regard, the petitioner submitted a representation to the respondents on 20.12.2025; however, the same was not considered by the respondents. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed. The petitioner also undertakes that the Cultural Programme will be conducted in a peaceful manner and assures that no obscene acts will be permitted during the cultural programme.

Mr.T.Senthil Kumar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents, submitted that the petitioner had made a representation on 20.12.2025, seeking permission to conduct a Sports and Aadalum Paadalum cultural programme at EB Colony, near the Bus Stop, Gandhi Gramam North, Pasupathipalayam, Karur District, and that the same is under consideration. He further submitted that the respondents have no objection, provided the petitioner undertakes to conduct the said programme without causing any law and order issues.

4. This Court carefully considered the submissions made on either side and perused materials available on record

This writ petition has been filed seeking permission to conduct a Sports and Aadalum Paadalum cultural programme scheduled to be held on 01.01.2026 from 07.00 a.m. to 09.30 p.m. In this case, there are no private respondents. Since the date for conducting the Sports and Aadalum Paadalum cultural programme has already been fixed as 01.01.2026, without going into the merits of the case, there shall be a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 20.12.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance Page No. 3 of 6

with law on or before 31.12.2025. The petitioner shall also ensure that no law and order problem is created during the cultural programme and that no obscene acts are permitted. If necessary, the respondent police are directed to provide adequate police protection for the Sports and Adalum Padalum Cultural Programme scheduled to be held on 01.01.2026 at about 07.00a.m.to 09.30p.m. and to ensure the safety of the public participating in the said Sports and Cultural Programme.

6. With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
