ORDER

The petitioners, apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent Police, for the offence under Sections 296(b) of BNS and Section 4 of TNPHW Act, in Crime No. Not known/2025 have filed this petition seeking anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioners and the other accused persons harassed the defacto complainant by demanding dowry and due to the act of the accused persons, the defacto complainant suffered mental agony. Hence, the case.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are innocent persons and they have not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. He further submits that it is purely a family dispute and with an intention to harass the petitioners, a criminal complaint has been lodged against the petitioners. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioners. 2/4

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submits that the petition enquiry is pending in CSR stage and a case has not been registered.
