JUDGMENT

(Judgment of the Court was made by G.R.Swaminathan J.) Heard both sides.

2.The Police Department has filed this writ appeal challenging the order dated 20.08.2013 passed by the learned single Judge allowing W.P(MD)No.9562 of 2011 filed by the respondent herein. The respondent herein was an aspirant for the post of Police Constable Grade II. He was successful in the recruitment process. However, during verification, it was found that he had been involved in a criminal case and the same was also suppressed while filling up the verification form. 3.The Hon'ble Full Bench of this Court had already held that such suppression by a candidate seeking appointment to Uniformed Service must be viewed seriously. This has been the consistent view of both the Hon'ble Full Bench as well as the Larger Bench of this Court. The order passed by the learned single Judge runs counter to the Hon'ble Full Bench as well as the Larger Bench. In this view of the matter, the order impugned in this writ appeal is liable to be set aside. Accordingly, it is set aside.
