ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Usilampatty, Madurai District to expedite the trial in C.C. No. 178 of 2022 within the time frame fixed by this Court. 1/4

2. The petitioner/A6 in C.C. No.178 of 2022 facing trial for offences under Sections 147,148,427,323,324,294(b) and 506(2) of IPC and Section 4 of TNPHW Act has filed this application seeking to expedite the trial.

3. The contention of the petitioner is that in this case the alleged occurrence said to have taken place on 09.04.2021 and the case has been registered in Crime No.82 of 2021 and later after investigation charge sheet has been filed and the same was taken on file in C.C. No.178 of 2022 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I Usilampatti.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that in this case there are totally 11 witness, of which three witnesses have been examined and the case stands posted to 06.01.2025 for recording evidence of L.W. 4 to 8 and the trial is in progress. He further submit that trial can be completed within a period of two months.

5. In view of the same there shall be a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I Usilampatti to complete the trial proceedings in C.C. No.178 of 2022 within a period of two months from 06.01.2025. 2/4

6. With the above direction, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
