petitioner's date of retirement (31.05.2018) to till the date of reimbursement (24.09.2019 of amount paid towards the petitioner's terminal and pension benefits namely EPF Employee's Contribution, Gratuity and Encashment of Earned/Sick Leave and other monetary benefits etc., within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court, without affection the petitioner's right to claim balance amounts towards those benefits.

O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed by a retired Driver Inspector of the respondent Transport Corporation, who had attained superannuation on 31.05.2018 seeking a Mandamus for payment of interest for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits.

2. According to the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, though the petitioner has retired from service on 31.05.2018, the terminal benefits were released belatedly only on 24.09.2019. Hence, the petitioner has 2/5

addressed a communication to the respondents on 11.11.2024, seeking payment of interest for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits. Since there is no response, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.

4. Considering the above said facts, the respondents herein are directed to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits from the due date till the date of disbursement, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
