PRAYER :- For Anticipatory Bail in Crime No.253 of 2024 on the file of the respondent police. ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioners, who apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent police 1/3

for the offence punishable under Clause 6(4) of TNSC (RDCS) Order 1982 r/w. 7(1)(a)(ii) of Essential Commodities Act, 1955, in Crime No.253 of 2024, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that on 09.12.2024, during regular surveillance, a vehicle was intercepted and it was found to contain 1040 kgs of PDS rice and other ration items. The driver, who is A2, was arrested on 09.12.2024. The petitioner is said to be the owner of vehicle and the property and he has been arrayed as A1.

3. The learned Government Advocate submitted that the entire property has been seized and that there are 2 previous cases against the petitioner of similar nature.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that a false case has been foisted against the petitioner and that he has nothing to do with the alleged offence.

5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the quantity involved in this case and also considering the fact that 2/3

there are 2 similar cases pending against the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
