This petition has been filed by the petitioner to direct the respondent to file a final report in Crime No.1 of 2023 within a time as Page No. 1 of 4
stipulated by this Court.
2. According to the petitioner, he is one of the depositor and based on the complaint given by the defacto complainant, a case has been registered in Crime No.1 of 2023 for the offences under Sections 406, 417, 420 and 120B of IPC and Section 4 of TN Protection of Interest of Depositors (in Financial Establishments) Act, 1997. Thereafter, no proper investigation has been conducted and so for not file the final report. Hence, he has filed this petition.
3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police would submit that previously, the depositors lodged a complaint before the District Crime Branch, Theni and registered a case as against the accused. Thereafter, the same was transferred to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Theni and more than 7.5 crores involved in this Case. The respondent police still receiving complainants as against the accused and already they have also taken steps to attach the properties of the accused and the same is also pending. Therefore, they will complete the investigation and file the final report within six months. Page No. 2 of 4

Considering the prayer of the petitioner and the nature of offences, the investigation in this case is pending and the respondent police also frequently receiving complaints, recording the above said submission of the respondent police, this Court directs the respondent to complete the investigation and file the final report within a period of six months from the date of this order.
5. With the above said direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
