Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the Thasildar, Theni, to issue patta in the name of the petitioner based on her title deeds in respect of the property comprised in Survey No.1504/3, situated at Veerapandi Village, of an extent of 7747 1/2 Sq. ft. out of 1 Acre 58 cents, by considering the representation, dated 05.10.2023.

ORDER

It is seen that the petitioner's application, dated 10.09.2023, for transfer of patta in the name of the petitioner is pending before the first respondent. The first respondent, vide his communication, dated 05.01.2024, directed the second respondent to send a report to take further action on the petitioner's application.

2. In view of the fact that the first respondent has already initiated action on the petitioner's application, the second respondent is directed to send a report to the first respondent as expeditiously as possible and, thereafter, the first respondent shall pass orders on merits and in accordance with law. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of this order.
