ORDER
This Writ Petition is filed, praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the first Respondent to conduct the election of the Office Bearers of the Velayuthapuram Nadar Uravinmurai Sangam, Kovilpatti, (Registration No.16/1958), in accordance with provisions of the Tamil Nadu Society Registration Act, 1975, by appointing an Election Observer, by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 09.12.2024.
2. The prayer of the petitioner was for a direction to conduct election to the Office Bearers of the Velayuthapuram Nadar Uravinmurai Sangam, Kovilpatti, for the period 2021 to 2014 for a period of three years.
3. As could be seen from the affidavit filed by the petitioner, the petitioner himself admitted that election was conducted for the Office Bearers of the Sangam for the period 2021 to 2014 in the year 2021 itself and the
tenure of the Executive Committee ended and that on 24.11.2024, General Body Meeting was also conducted, during which it was resolved to hold elections for the new Office Bearers.
4. Now that the period for which election was sought was over and as stated above, the election was also conducted, nothing survives for consideration in this Writ Petition, as a result of which, the cause of action for the petitioner does not survive as on date.
5. Therefore, this Writ Petition is dismissed, as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, the connected W.M.P.(MD) No.2224 of 2025 is closed. 25.02.2025 NCC :
