The instant Writ Petition has been filed by a Block Development Officer seeking a mandamus for the conclusion of the departmental Page No. 1 of 4

proceedings initiated against him, by considering his representation dated 25.11.2024.

2. It can be seen from the records that the petitioner was issued two charge memos on 09.12.2022 and 21.01.2023. After the completion of the enquiry, the reports were submitted. The petitioner has already offered his explanation to the enquiry reports. Although the petitioner has attained superannuation, he has not been permitted to retire and has been suspended and retained in service. In these circumstances, this Writ Petition has been filed seeking a mandamus as against the respondent to conclude the departmental proceedings.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondent.

4. Considering the fact that the enquiry has already been completed and the petitioner has submitted his further explanation to the enquiry reports, the respondent is directed to pass final orders in the departmental proceedings within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
