Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to expeditiously complete the enquiry based on the petitioner's petition dated 31.01.2022, and further direct the 1st respondent to take necessary steps to restore the temple property in Survey No. 43/11, to Shri Renganathan Temple, thereby safeguarding the temple's endowment and ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act, 1959.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the 2nd respondent to expeditiously complete the enquiry based on the petitioner's petition dated 31.01.2022, and further direct the 1st respondent to take necessary steps to restore the temple's property.

2. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for in this writ petition, notice to the seventh respondent is dispensed with. By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

3. Heard the learned counsel on both sides and carefully perused the entire materials available on record.

4. The petitioner has filed a petition dated 31.01.2022 before the first respondent to conduct enquiry in respect of restoring the temple's property in S.No.43/11, to Shri Renganathan Temple, and safeguard the same. Since the same is not considered, this writ petition is filed.

5. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the official respondents on instructions submitted that the petitioner's petition has already been taken into file and appropriate steps have been initiated to consider the same and summons have also been issued by the first respondent to various stakeholders. 3/6

6. At this juncture, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the matter is now pending before the second respondent.

7. Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate appearing for the official respondents, this Court hereby direct the second respondent to consider the petitioner's petition dated 31.01.2022 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

8. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
