ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking to transfer the case in Crime No.165 of 2013 dated 23.02.2013 on the file of the Respondent No.2 to Respondent No.3 for investigation within the time period stipulated by this Court.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the defacto complainant, at whose instance the First Information Report in Crime No.165 of 2013 was registered to find out about his missing father, who travelled in a train from Andhra Pradesh to Madurai, for taking treatment in Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai. However, even after a lapse of 12 years, there has been no progress in the investigation.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that the petitioner's father came from from Andhra Pradesh to Madurai, for taking treatment in the Aravind Eye Hospital and he reached the Railway Station, Madurai, from where he had gone missing. Since the petitioner's father was missing from the year 2013, the second respondent police is unable to trace out him.

4. This Court carefully perused the materials available on record. 2/4

Considering the fact that the even after a lapse of 12 years, the second respondent police are unable to trace out the father of the petitioner, this Court directs the 2nd respondent police to take necessary steps to take necessary steps to conclude the investigation as expeditiously as possible within a period of 3 months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and further directed to appraise the progress in the investigation to the 1st respondent. The 1st respondent is directed to monitor the ongoing investigation by the 2nd respondent.

6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
