The instant Writ Petition has been filed by the road workers employed in the second respondent's office, challenging the seniority list published by the second respondent.
2. The grievance of the petitioners is that the private respondents, who have passed the 10th standard without prior permission, have been Page No. 2 of 5
included in the seniority list, and they are likely to be promoted as Road Inspector Grade-II. According to the petitioners, those who have appeared for the SSLC examination, without prior permission from the concerned authority, cannot be included in the panel for the post of Road Inspector Grade-II.
3. A perusal of the impugned list reveals that it is not a panel, but only a seniority list. The petitioners cannot have any grievance regarding the seniority list. As and when the panel is prepared for promoting the road workers to the post of Road Inspector Grade-II, the petitioners are entitled to raise such objections. It is for the authorities to consider the said objections in light of the service regulations.
4. In the light of the above observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
