PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 & 2 to extend the emergency leave as previously granted by this Court in W.P.(MD)No.29663 of 2024 dated 10.12.2024 to the petitioner's husband who is life convict prisoner namely Pandi @ Boopan Pandi in C.P.No.1613 at Central Prison, Madurai without escort for the period of 15 days considering the petitioner's representation dated 17.11.2024.

ORDER

2. The petitioner's husband was granted six days emergency leave. The leave period expired on 21.12.2024.

3. Considering the special facts and circumstances set out in the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition, the leave period is extended by five more days. The convict shall positively surrender on 26.12.2024 at 05.00 pm.
