ORDER

The Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to provide adequate police protection to the life and limb of the petitioners and their family members. 2.The contention of the petitioners is that the petitioners and their entire family members have been assaulted by the third respondent and his family members. The petitioners and the father of the first petitioner were injured in the incident and had taken treatment in the Government Hospital, Madurai. The respondent police had not taken any action, though the complaint has been made against the third respondent and his family members and hence, the petitioners sent a representation on 10.12.2024 to the first and second respondents. Even thereafter, no action has been taken and hence, this petition. 3.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that on the complaint of the petitioner, CSR has been registered in CSR No.941 of 2024 and further, the third respondent also lodged a complaint and the same has also been taken on file as against the petitioners. After registering the case, the petitioners and the third respondent were called for enquiry.

4.The learned counsel for the petitioners submit that the petitioners and their family members are fearing for life at the hands of the third respondent and his family members. He would further submit that the petitioners would appear before the respondent police on 27.01.2025. 5.In view of the above, the third respondent police is directed to ensure the presence of the third respondent and conduct enquiry and conclude the same in the manner known to law as expeditiously as possible. It is a case and case in counter. It shall be ensured by the respondent police that necessary protection is given to the female members.

6.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
