ORDER
The petitioner, who is the husband of one Meenakumari, had lodged a complaint that his wife was found missing from 03.05.2024 and later, she was found from the house of one Ganesakani, who is the sister of his wife, on 01.11.2024. The said Meenakumari was also get away from the petitioner and later, joined with the petitioner. During enquiry, it was found that the petitioner's wife, Meenakumari, was forcibly controlled by her family members and they were collecting the salary of her and enjoying the same. This act has been committed by her brother-in-law, Balakrishnan and mother Chellakani. In this regard, the petitioner had lodged a complaint to the respondent police to take action against them, so far no action has been taken. Hence, the present petition.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who accepts notice for the respondent police, on instructions, would submit that earlier the petitioner had given a complaint as if his wife was missing and in this regard, Crime No.72 of 2024 was registered for 'women missing' and thereafter, the petitioner's wife was traced on 13.10.2024 and later, handed over to the petitioner. Now, the petitioner lodged a complaint to take 2/5
action against one Chellakani, Selvaraj, Ilavarasi, Balakrishnan, Ganesakani and her husband, who forcibly detained his wife. He fairly submitted that Crime No.72 of 2024 has now been closed. Further submitted that since it is the family issue, the petitioner can approach the All Women Police Station, Sathankulam. He further submitted that in the complaint of the petitioner, the third and fourth respondents were contacted, who undertook to appear for enquiry on future date.

In view of the above, this Court directs the second respondent/Inspector of Police, Thattarmadam Police Station, to forward the complaint of the petitioner dated 03.12.2024 to the All Women Police Station, Sathankulam, who shall conduct enquiry and complete the same within a period of three months thereafter.
4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
