ORDER

This petition has been filed to quash the proceedings in Crime No. 3 of 2024, dated 28.02.2024 on the file of the first respondent insofar as the petitioner is concerned.

2.The case of the prosecution is that Late Narayana Moorthi, while serving as an Executive Officer in the year 2016-2019, the petitioner and other accused said to have caused loss and swindled a sum of Rs. 1,71,32,340/- to the Koothappar Town Panchayat. Hence, the first respondent Police register a case in Crime No.3 of 2024. Based on the aforesaid complaint, the District Collector, Trichy vide letter dated 18.11.2019, Lr.No.918/2019/TP2 ordered enquiry. 3.When the matter is taken up for hearing today (ie. 29.01.2025), the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent Police would submit that the investigation is almost completed and they are going to file a report either way.

4.In view of the above submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to file afresh petition in appropriate time.
