O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to accept the applications of the petitioners and include their names in the list of victims for the return of the deposited amounts, in accordance with the advertisement dated 07.11.2024 issued by the respondent.
2. The petitioners in these Writ Petitions are victims of fraud perpetrated by Neomax Private Limited and its associated group of companies. The petitioners had invested huge sums of money in the company, but the company, in turn, had purchased properties in the name of the company itself, its Directors, and its benami entities. On coming to know about the fraudulent activities of the company, the petitioners submitted their applications on 12.12.2024, requesting to be included in the list of victims. However, these applications were not considered. Consequently, the petitioners have filed this Writ Petition seeking their inclusion in the list of victims and seeking recovery of the amounts deposited with the company.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent Police submits that the applications of the petitioners were refused on 13.12.2024. It is further submitted that if the petitioners submit fresh complaints, appropriate action will be taken promptly to protect the interests of the depositors.
4. In light of the above submission, this Court directs the petitioners to re-submit their complaints before the respondent, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Economic Offences Wing, Madurai, within two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. On receipt of the complaints, the respondent, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Economic Offences Wing, Madurai shall take appropriate steps regarding the applications to be re-submitted by the petitioners, preferably within two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The Additional Director General of Police, Economic Offence, Chennai Wing is further directed to monitor the progress of the case and the actions taken by the concerned Deputy Superintendent of Police.
