Petitioner is the accused in Crime No.2085/2014 of Mannar Police Station registered for the offence punishable under Section 376 IPC.

The allegation against the petitioner is that on 29.12.2014 at 3.30 p.m. he called a 90 year old woman, who is the mother-in-law of the defacto complainant, into his house and he forcibly committed rape on her. The petitioner has been in custody for the period from 30.12.2014 onwards.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Public Prosecutor.

The contents of the CD prima facie reveal the complicity of the petitioner. The allegations against the

petitioner are very grave and serious. The inhuman conduct on the part of the petitioner does not permit this Court to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Considering the seriousness of the allegations against the petitioner, I am of the view that the petitioner is not entitled to be enlarged on bail. In the result, this Bail Application is dismissed.
