Petitioner is the 5th accused in Crime No.826/2013 of Poovar Police Station registered for the offences punishable under Sections 489(B) and (C) read with Section 34 IPC.

This is a case wherein counterfeit currency notes were seized from the possession of A1 to A4. On their arrest, fingers were pointed towards the present petitioner as the person who had supplied counterfeit currency notes

of the denomination of ₹500/- to them. It has come out from the investigation that the petitioner has come into possession of counterfeit currency notes of the denomination of ₹500/- from a source, the telephone number of which was furnished by the petitioner. The petitioner has been in custody for the period from 12.02.2015 onwards.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Public Prosecutor.

The investigating officer has reported that the investigation is in progress and the phone number regarding the source from where the petitioner had received the fake currency notes could not be located and the said number is not presently working. It has been reported that in a search conducted at the house of the petitioner, one counterfeit currency note of the denomination of ₹500/- was seized. Considering the seriousness of the allegations against the petitioner and the present stage of investigation, I am of the

view that the petitioner is not entitled to be enlarged on bail at present.
