The petitioner is the third accused in Crime No. 188 of 2015 of Nemmara Police Station registered for the offences under sections 143, 147, 148, 341, 323, 324, 308, 294(b), 506(ii) r/w 34. He is a college student. The allegation is that he along with the co-accused attacked some students who owed allegiance to another students union.

3. The learned counsel submits that the petitioner is aged only 19 years and he did not do any overt act. On the other hand, the learned Public Prosecutor submits that there is a specific allegation that he wrongfully restrained the victim. He is involved in another case, which is coming up for consideration today, the Crime No. being 187 of 2015. Merely because he is a student, he cannot be granted anticipatory bail. Campus violence should be curbed with a
