ORDER
The petitioners, who are husband and wife apprehend arrest in connection with a crime under the provisions of The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. There is some property dispute between the parties. A mere property claim will not constitute offence punishable under the said Act. The learned Public Prosecutor submitted that the police has not so far registered any crime against the petitioners, and so there is no reason for any apprehension of arrest. The submission made by the learned Public Prosecutor is recorded, and the bail application is closed, without prejudice to the right of the petitioners to make a fresh application, if any crime involving non-bailable offence is registered against them later.
