Petitioner is accused of having committed the offence under Section 420 IPC. The prosecution case is that he along with the co-accused made a false promise that he would help the de facto complainant to avail of a loan from Canara Bank and received Rs.22,000/- as commission and he did not do anything to obtain the loan.

Learned Public Prosecutor submits that the petitioner is involved in other cases similar in nature and releasing him on anticipatory bail will adversely affect the investigation. I think there is much weight in the submission.
