Petitioner is the accused in Crime No. 652 of 2015 of Feroke Police Station. He is said to have committed the offences under Sections 379 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 20 and 21 of the Kerala Protection of River Banks and Regulation of Removal of Sand Act, 2001.

The allegation is that he was found transporting river sand without any permit and on seeing the police, he ran away. 4.

Heard.

The allegation against the petitioner is very serious. Unmindful of the effect of his action on the ecology and the environment he was plundering the wealth of the nation. This is not a fit case to grant anticipatory bail.
