Petition filed under Section 439 Cr.P.C.
2. Petitioner is accused in Crime No.82 of 2015 of Karunagappally Excise Range registered for the offence under Sec.55(i) of the Kerala Abkari Act. The prosecution case is that he was found selling liquor near a tea shop.
3. Heard both sides.
4. Learned counsel submits that as the petitioner has been in custody since 29.06.2015, he may be granted bail.
5. Learned Public Prosecutor submits that he was arrested in connection with C.R. No.94 of 2015 and in this case his formal arrest was effected only on 14.07.2015.
6. I have perused the records. I am satisfied that he has been in custody only since 14.07.2015. The
B.A. No.4989 of 2015 2 petitioner is also involved in other abkari cases also. It is not in public interest to grant him bail.
