Petitioner is the accused in Crime No.924 of 2014 of Kumily Police Station, Idukki District. He is accused of having committed the offences under Sections 294(b), 323, 332, 341 506 (1) of the Indian Penal Code.

The prosecution case is that he uttered obscene words at a public place, wrongfully restrained the victim, who is a forest range officer and assaulted him preventing him from discharging his duties.

The learned Public Prosecutor submits that the petitioner is involved in another case of similar nature. There must be an atmosphere in which Government servants can work without the threat of being attacked by antisocial elements. This is not a fit case to grant anticipatory bail.
