JUDGMENT

The petitioner has filed this contempt case alleging that the direction of this Court in the interim order dated 12/1/2015 has not been complied with.

2. A counter affidavit has been filed by the respondent producing Ext.R1(A) in which, a decision has been taken to renew the licence of the petitioner on the petitioner remitting the building tax that is due and payable. Since as per law the Panchayat need not renew the licence of a person, who is withholding the payment of tax to the Panchayat, the stipulation of the said condition by the Panchayat cannot be found fault with. If the amount is not due or payable by the petitioner, I think it is for the petitioner to invoke other appropriate remedies against the order and to obtain an interim order of stay .

I do not find any ground to proceed further with this
