JUDGMENT

This contempt application has been filed alleging non-compliance of judgment dated 16.07.2014 passed by a Division Bench of this Court in W.P.(C) No.21226/2013, 5521/2014 and 6694 of 2014. The applicant's case in this application is that though this Court in paragraph 10 has noted that the issue remains for consideration is the claim for promotion of 25% category for which steps have already been taken shall be expedited, but the promotions had not yet been given.
2. A counter affidavit has been filed on behalf of the 1st respondent, stating that as per the Board Resolution dated 31.12.2014, an order dated 01.01.2015 is passed by the Devaswom Commissioner, which has been brought on record. The counter affidavit states that filling of 25% vacancies totaling 29 in the watchman-cum-peon/peon in the various offices Cochin Devaswom Board is complied. The directions
Contempt Case (Civil) No. 1096 of 2014 -:2:- have already been complied with by the Board. We see no reason to proceed with this contempt application. Anyone who has any grievance regarding the promotion is free to take such recourse as permissible under law.
With the above observations, the Contempt proceedings are dropped and contempt case is closed. Ashok Bhushan, Acting Chief Justice.
