JUDGMENT

------------- This contempt case has been filed for initiating action against the respondents for not complying with the direction issued by this court in respect of investigation of Crime No.66/2013 of CBCID, Kottayam.

The allegation was that though there was a direction to inform the vehicular particulars to NCRB to trace out the missing vehicles, that was not done. Earlier, the present investigating officer filed a statement stating that prior investigating officers were either suspended from service or was entrusted with other investigation as well and so the investigation could not be proceeded with as expected. Now he has undertaken the investigation. But there was nothing mentioned about the fact as to whether the particulars regarding the missing vehicles have been informed to NCRB as directed in the order dated 18.02.2014, so a specific direction was given to file a statement by the investigating officer as to whether that direction has been complied with. Now another statement has been filed by the investigating officer through the Government Pleader stating that the details were sent to the Director, National Crime Records Bureau, New Delhi for

C.O.C.NO.1374 OF 2014 IN CRL.M.C.5824 OF 2013 publishing the case details in NCRB website as per letter dated 22.01.2015. So, the grievance of the petitioner has been redressed.

The above facts are recorded and in view of the fact that the direction has now been complied with and also I am satisfied with the reasons stated for not doing it earlier due to official reasons, this court feels that there is no necessity to proceed against the respondents for contempt as requested in the petition. The statement of the investigating officer is recorded and the contempt case is closed.
