O R D E R
The petitioners are the accused in C.C. No.1008/2014 on the file of the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Ranni. They are alleged to have committed the offences under Sections 406 & 498 IPC. It is submitted that the matter has been settled between the petitioners and the victim and the proceedings in the criminal case may be quashed.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners, the de facto complainant and the learned Public Prosecutor.
3. The first petitioner is the husband of the victim, who is the first respondent. She has entered appearance through counsel and filed an affidavit to the effect that the matter has been settled between the parties. The second petitioner is the mother and the 3rd petitioner is the brother-in-law of the first petitioner. I have perused the affidavit. I am satisfied that the allegation is true and no public interest is involved in the case.
Crl.M.C. No.195 of 2014 : 2 :
It is only proper that the proceedings in the criminal case are quashed.
4. In the result, the proceedings in C.C. No.108/2014 on the file of the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Ranni, are quashed.
