O R D E R

This is a case in which gold worth ₹54,30,000/- was allegedly seized from the petitioner, while it was brought by him from abroad by Emirates Airways Flight No.EK532 at Cochin on 31.05.2015. When the value of the gold seized is less than Rupees One Crore, the offence is bailable.

2. He was enlarged on bail. A condition was imposed by the Customs Officer that the petitioner should surrender his passport. It was after obtaining his passport, he was enlarged on bail. According to the petitioner, he is employed abroad and his Visa is about to expire and therefore, he wants to get back his passport.

3. The passport of the petitioner shall be released to the petitioner on his executing a bond for ₹1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only) with two solvent sureties for the like sum each

CRL.M.C. No.6024 of 2015 to the satisfaction of the officer concerned, and on his filing an affidavit that he will co-operate with the investigation and would be available as and when called for.
