We have perused the report of the learned Ombudsman and the materials produced along with the application. We have noted that only one tender was received and there is no infirmity in the stand taken by the Engineering wing of the Travancore Devaswom Board that re-tendering was not resorted to because there is no possibility of getting a better offer. We accept the report of the learned Ombudsman and grant permission as sought for. The work will be commenced immediately after the current Makaravilakku season and will be completed at the earliest. The expenditure for the work shall be subjected to audit after the completion of the work. DBP ordered accordingly.
