J U D G M E N T

The petitioners herein are the accused Nos. 3 and 6 in C.C No.132 of 2008 of the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Mannarkkad (Palakkad District). They seek a direction for expeditious disposal of the case on the ground that delay in disposal will affect their employment. One of them is a High School Assistant and the other is a Mazdoor in the Kerala State Electricity Board. If disposal of the case is delayed, their regularization in the service also will be delayed. That is their grievance. Now there is report from the learned Magistrate that charge in the case was framed long back on 27.7.2009, and the court has already examined three witnesses as part of trial. The case now stands posted to 14.7.2015. The total pendency reported by the learned Magistrate is 5449. The learned Magistrate has also reported that the case could be disposed of within six months. In the above circumstances, I feel it in appropriate to make a direction for time bound disposal. Trial having commenced, I hope that the case could be disposed of
