JUDGMENT

This appeal is filed by the petitioner in the writ petition challenging the judgment in O.P.No.27396/2001. The question that was considered by this Court is as to the liability of the petitioner to satisfy tax under the Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1976 in the light of the amendment made to the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, as per Section 54 of 1994.
2.
By an elaborate judgment, all the issues have been considered by this Court. Ultimately, the writ petition was dismissed. 3.
Today, the learned counsel for the appellant had produced along with I.A.No.773/2015, a letter dated 18.06.2015 from the Joint Regional Transport Officer, Mattancherry, which reads as follows : " Vide reference cited, I have to inform you that M/s Chakiath agencies pvt. Ltd. has cleared all the tax
WA No.1197/2012 dues to this department, of their 105 semi trailers which were registered in KBF series that involved in the O.P.No.27396/2001 and W/A No.1197/2002 of Hon'ble High Court of Kerala. This is for your information and necessary action."
4.
Heard the learned counsel for the appellant and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. It is clear from the affidavit in I.A.No.773/2015 that appellant has availed of the benefit of one-time settlement scheme and has paid all the tax dues. It is submitted that by recording the letter, the writ appeal itself can be disposed of. In the light of the contents of the letter and the affidavit, no further orders are required in the appeal.
