Sri.A.Renjith, learned Government Pleader appearing for the State of Kerala submitted that a meeting was held on 12.3.2015 in the Chamber of the Honourable Chief Minister to discuss matters relating to supply of drinking water at Karimala, that the said meeting was attended among others by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, the Managing Director of the Kerala Water Authority, the Commissioner, Travancore Devaswom Board and the Chief Engineer, Irrigation. The learned Government Pleader also submitted that after detailed discussions a decision was taken to enhance the storage capacity of the existing water tank to 5000 litres, to renovate and maintain the existing water harvesting structure in a time bound manner and that a decision has also been taken to find out a new water source through the Forest Department. The learned Government Pleader also submitted that at the said meeting the Government have also taken a decision to provide drinking water at Karimala with the help of the Ayyappa Seva Sangham and members of the Eco Development Committee

S.S.C.R.No.1 of 2015 and that the Kerala Water Authority has agreed to undertake correlation of the existing water supply.

In such circumstances, we direct the State of Kerala (more particularly the Forest Department of the State)/Kerala Water Authority to expeditiously implement the decisions taken at the meeting held on 12.3.2015 and to provide adequate potable water at Karimala in a time bound manner and in any event before the pilgrimage season of 2015-2016.
