This writ petition is filed challenging Ext.P3 by which notification under Section 4(1) had been published by invoking the urgency clause under Section 17(4) of the Land Acquisition Act. Apparently Ext.P3 notification was issued on 18/10/2006. Initially, an order of stay has been granted by this Court, which was extended by two months on 10/4/2008. Thereafter, stay has not been extended.

Having regard to the fact that long time has elapsed after the issuance of the notification and there being no stay granted after 10/4/2008, I do not think that anything survives to be done in the matter or for considering the issue raised by the petitioner on merits. This writ petition is therefore disposed of permitting State and its authorities to take appropriate action in accordance with law.
