J U D G M E N T

The petitioner is an 'Ex-Serviceman' retired from the service of Border Security Force and is presently working as 'Security Guard' in a 'Cash Transporting Agency' serving various Banks to pump in necessary cash in the ATM counters. The petitioner is having a 'Gun' with Licence bearing No.435/AMB, which is stated as essential, with reference to the nature of duty to be performed by the petitioner and the possible threats from different corners. It is stated that validity of the licence expired on 31.12.2010 and hence an application for renewal was submitted, well in time. The 1st respondent on receipt of said application called for a report as per Ext.P2 from the Police Authorities. The petitioner was asked to appear for a hearing on 28.05.2014 as per Ext.P4 communication issued in the office of the 1st respondent. The petitioner appeared and the matter was heard, but the proceedings are still to be finalised and hence the writ petition. 2.

Heard the learned Government Pleader as well. 3.

After hearing both the sides, this Court finds that the

WP(c). No.612 of 2015 matter has to be taken to a logical conclusion by passing appropriate orders in the application preferred by the petitioner for renewal, if the same is still to be passed. Accordingly, there will be a direction to the 1st respondent to finalise the proceedings, if it is still pending, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of 'six weeks' from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. If any order has already been passed, it shall be communicated to the petitioner, forwarding a copy of the same.

The petitioner shall produce a copy of this judgment along with a copy of this writ petition before the 1st respondent for further steps.
