JUDGMENT

The petitioner retired while working as a Reader in History from the Devaswom Board College at Sasthamcotta with effect from 31.3.2001. The petitioner's grievance is that he was not paid the two advance increments on the basis of P2 Government Order. It is the case of the petitioner is that the UGC Pay Revision with effect from 1.1.1996 provided for two advance increments as incentive to those teachers having secured Ph.D degree from 1.1.1996. However, it is submitted that the petitioner was not given two advance increments even though the similarly situated teachers were given the benefit. 2.

It is submitted by the learned Government Pleader on instructions that delay in this matter is only on account of the reason that the fourth respondent failed to forward the

W.P.(C) No.2701 of 2015 2 proposal of the petitioner. It is submitted that as and when the proposal is received from the fourth respondent immediate action will be taken to grant advance increment to the petitioner.

In view of the facts and circumstances, there shall be a direction to the fourth respondent to forward the proposal to the third respondent for disbursal of the two advance increments to the petitioner. This shall be done within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. Thereafter, based on the proposal, necessary action shall be taken by the third respondent within a further period of four weeks.

The writ petition is disposed of as above.
