By this writ petition, the petitioner has prayed for a mandamus directing the respondents to give adequate and effective police protection for the temple function and also for the "Thiruarattu Maholsavam" of Ammancheriyil Devi Temple from 20.2.2015 to 1.3.2015.

The petitioner's case in the writ petition is that the said function is a large function for which the temple authorities have to make several arrangements. It is submitted that last year also the petitioner had approached this Court by filing W.P.(C) No.5333 of 2014, which was disposed of on 24.2.2014 recording the submissions made by the learned Government Pleader that the police had already made sufficient arrangements to give necessary and adequate protection during festival time. 4.

Learned State Attorney submits that for the ensuing
