J U D G M E N T
Aggrieved by the non-issuance of admission card for the Board Examination conducted by the CBSE, the petitioner has come up before this Court.

The petitioner, who is a minor represented by his father, is a student of Std.X during the academic year 2013-2014 of Jai Rani Public School, Kaliyar. He alleged that all the students except the petitioner, who have applied to CBSE for appearing for Std.X examination conducted by the Board, has been issued with admission cards. He pointed out that the Jai Rani Public School, being only a secondary school, cannot conduct such an examination as there is no facility to continue studies beyond Std.X in that school. According to the petitioner, it is apparently by a mistake that he alone was denied admission card for the Board Examination, which was scheduled to be commenced on 03.03.2014. He further alleged that only on 27.02.2014

that the petitioner's father was informed by Ext.P2 about the non-receipt of admission card. According to the petitioner, since he was not in any manner responsible for the mistake, he is not liable to be put to any suffering. 3.
This Court, by interim order dated 28.02.2014, permitted the petitioner to appear for the Board Examination for Std.X conducted by the CBSE scheduled to commence on 03.03.2014. It was further made clear that the same would be strictly provisional and subject to the result of the writ petition.

Today, when the matter came up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that on the strength of the interim order, the petitioner was permitted to appear for the examination.
As the very purpose sought to be achieved by the filing of the writ petition has been served, the writ petition is closed.
