JUDGMENT
1. Petitioners are aggrieved with the delay in publication of their results of the 3rd semester supplementary examination. Petitioners, admittedly, are persons, who have completed the course in the academic year 2013-14 and have also applied for the 8th semester examination. Petitioners' course is having eight semesters and the petitioners are not yet qualified in the 3rd semester. Petitioners contend that, they have obtained employment in multi-national companies and only if the provisional certificates are issued, their placement will be confirmed.
2. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the University submits that the valuation is being conducted on a priority basis with the 8th semester given the highest priority, since students, who have qualified regularly, will have to be first issued with the certificate.
W.P.(C)No.5866 of 2015 -:2:- Petitioners herein failed in the 3rd semester examination and not qualified yet, despite having completed the 8th semester. In the circumstances, no direction could be issued to the University to give any priority to the petitioners. However, it is to be noticed that the examination itself was conducted in November, 2014 and results are not yet published. Learned Standing Counsel undertakes that the results would be published positively in the 1st week of May, 2015. The said undertaking is recorded. Petitioners would be entitled to make an application for confidential transmission of marks to the employer after the tabulation of marks, which the University will consider with all expediency.
Writ petition is disposed off.
K. Vinod Chandran, Judge.
